Reddit profile links are long — codes fix that
Reddit profile URLs carry a prefix most people forget: reddit.com/user/yourname, not reddit.com/yourname. Written on a poster or a slide, that's an easy thing to get wrong, and a wrong guess lands on an error page. Encoding it removes the prefix problem entirely.
The natural uses are promotional rather than social: an AMA announcement, a zine or print project where you want credit, a conference talk where your post history is the portfolio, or a product insert pointing at a community you run.
If you want people to land on a subreddit rather than your profile, switch to "Any link" and paste the r/ URL instead — communities are usually the better destination when the code is aimed at strangers.
